Involved in a car accident in B.C.? As of April 1st 2019 – you no longer have to pay a user fee. With an active valid claim number you do not pay a fee per visit. ICBC will cover the first 25 visit during the first 12 weeks of treatment at no charge to you. If more physiotherapy is needed we can apply for an extension for more physiotherapy treatments on your behalf.
What is the ICBC Recovery Network?
Kitsilano Physiotherapy Clinic is a member of the ICBC Recovery Network, which is a group of health care practitioners and clinics who can direct bill ICBC during your recovery. This includes our physiotherapists, acupuncturists and kinesiologists, allowing you to recover and we take care of the rest.

What to Expect at your Initial Visit?
Our physiotherapists will ask you questions related to your car accident, your pain, limitations and treatment goals. Notes will be taken throughout your initial visit and a treatment plan will be created.
An assessment will be conducted to test functional movement, muscle strength, and flexibility.
There will be one-on-one treatment with your physiotherapist throughout the course of recovery.
You will need to collaborate with your physiotherapist regarding how healing and rehabilitation process is coming along and your treatment is progressed to ensure optimal healing.
What to Expect at Your Subsequent Visits?
Each visit, your physiotherapist will spend the duration of your session focusing on your treatment.
Some examples of types of treatments may include:
- Manual therapy (hands-on techniques)
- Mobilizations to increase range of motion and stiffness
- Soft tissue release/massage
- Electromodalities
- Exercises for mobility and strength
- Acupuncture
- Intramuscular stimulation (IMS)/Dry needling
- Shockwave Therapy
